Has anyone else found a disconnect between the amount of need for foster families (and advertising of such need) and the amount of time it actually takes to hear back from the foster care programs? Either to start training or to interview, it sure seems to take a long time to hear back when we know that there are children who need care!
**I do realize, on average, that these programs are under-funded and under-staffed and that is the main reason our journeys are often long. We need a guardian angel to come help us reform this system and serve these children and families. Someone like this guy and his wife who are funding Head Start while the government is shutdown! Can’t we all campaign them and their personal foundation to help the foster children in our country??
