Today was my first day on the job. Boy, do they need help! There are two fundraising events coming up in September that need to be planned. Both of equal importance in terms of brand recognition in the community along with raising funds to keep the CASA office functioning. There are currently 50 children on the wait list, waiting to be appointed a CASA volunteer to their case. We need to be able to help them ASAP but are not able. Because of funding and the small nature of the office, there aren’t enough staff members to manage all the cases they have currently, let alone recruit, train and manage more! Hopefully I can lift the burden on the office staff so that more children can be served. Today I am working on a new brochure design, aimed both at recruiting volunteers and donors. Anything you wish you would see when looking at CASA brochures? Stories and insight into the children’s lives? All of the tasks required of a CASA volunteer?
