Behavioral Health Evaluations and Minors

Yesterday we had another evaluation for Little Man before his in-home counseling can start. I am beginning to think they are more an evaluation of the foster parents’ memory. I still don’t understand why he has to keep coming to these. I wrote about it last time when we had the children’s clinic to go over all of our options for his continued care. He totally shut down and sat on my lap for most of that session. This session he hid under the chair for the duration of the hour long visit. I was the only one that was asked questions. If we are talking about bad behavior/trauma/aggression issues in children and their biological parents what therapeutic value does it have for them to be in the room while their foster/adoptive mom recounts all of their bad behavior to the therapist!
